Said farewell to my uncle [Mothers BIL] yesterday...
He had a rough past 18 months with dementia but never lost his smile. He taught me a phrase when I was just a boy that I've passed on to my son: "Don't touch things you don't understand" - What that made me do and was the point was to LEARN, learn what things do and how they work THEN touch them. As a boilermaker by trade he could also bush mechanic anything and most important, he knew when to stop and accept that he didn't know everything and that sometimes you need to pay the person that can do that specialised repair.
Sorry to hear, but this happens & one day we will all join the queue. 2 queues one up & one down.
He was right you know, leave it to others to do if you start to flounder.. Trying to do something that one's bones say "Leave it alone or you'll probably **** it up" If one ignores that then one probably will & it could cost a heap more than getting the right person in in the first place. I reckon we have all done that..
Relative did a trip a few years ago there were a few ships involved. Were away for a few months - Sydney then Perth and through South East Asia before returning to Sydney. Half way round they swapped the ships crews over. As the ships were both the same type and colour think it must have been something to do with the deck chairs
This is interesting.

Yes. Interesting. Uber wants to trial flying cars in Melbourne. That could be fun.
