GM Detroit Diesels were not available as loose motors before the mid 50s. The sale of loose engines was forced on The General by anti trust laws, introduced by the US Fedral Government.
Fixable would supply all brackets and mounts for owners to convert the original straight eight Buick (?) to GM. 4-71was a popular conversation in the States.

That is a blast from the Past. Thanks Ian. I clearly remember those Clippers all shiny until they hit the **** roads.

Ansett also used them for Passenger Transport between the Aerodrome at Parafield & the City Terminal back in the days when airlines supplied transport. Cant recall whether the OZ ones were Air Cond or not.

They may have been used for Adel. Intl. & City work but not sure now, although I reckon I have seen a photo showing the first terminal at Ad. with one parked outside.

Not sure if TAA used them, but probably.

Used by Pioneer Tours in the day as well.

Has anyone seen the new Jeep ads and the supposed "Jeep Wave"? Is that a real thing or did they pinch it from us Land Rover drivers?

But some are not as deeply in as others.

This weekend I went for a drive in the countryside as I like to do, and stopped at the local supermarket, my version of bring an esky. While I was there I noticed a couple of lovely ladies checking me out, to be expected I thought, they pro'ly don't get to see many suave sophisticated city types like me out here, then a couple of aisles later I discovered my fly was unzipped!

This makes me imagine a Sherlock Holmes type, final scene : "You are undone, Randlover. Your end is in sight!"
