We got our 01 ES with 71,400ks for $31,000 if thats any guide, offer the lowest and let him barter the deal.
Baz.
I know someone with a company car that gets it updated when it clicks over 100,000km.
It's an HSE MY2003 and in good "knick"!
I'm considering making a realistic Trade-In offer?
Any suggestions?
Redbook has the following Trade-In price guide information:
2004 HSE 48K-54K (23,000km – 28,000km)
2003 HSE 45K-50K (45,000km – 55,000km)
2002 HSE 41K-47K (55,000km – 75,000km)
2002 ES 35K-39K (55,000km – 75,000km)
2001 ES 32K-36K (85,000km – 105,000km)
Wouldn't mind making an offer under 40K, even tempted to say 35K?
Not sure if I'll get it anyway.
Doesn't hurt trying...

Now that's a bargain. Every other ES 01 TD5's that I've seen out on the market greater than 80,000km are over $35,000.
Enjoy the new ride!

My guess would be if he took it to any Land Rover dealer they wouldn't offer him over 35k ... especially now with the new D3 on the market. If he is a mate ask him to get some trade-in prices from the dealers and if he doesn't mind you can just match whatever they offer ..
Thanks for the vote of confidence, as I would like to get it for a bargain!
I should get him (or maybe I should) to go to as many dealerships as possible and find the lowest Trade-In value, and make an offer for that price! Would definitely like that!
Crossing my fingers on this!

Maxi,
If the Disco is a "company car" then it will probably be under a lease arrangment under a finance company. It sounds like it might be a 3 year lease. In some circumstances the driver may have the option to buy this vehicle for the residual value and that is going to probably be around 30% of the original price. So if that's the case then he should be able to sell it to you for that price plus a bit for his trouble to arrange on your behalf. So I reckon you wouldn't want to pay more than $30K since it's going to have close to 100K on the clock.
I certainly know with Novated leases that you can purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease for the residual amount. The main difference between a Novated lease and Company car lease is that you have responsibility for the payments should you loose your job under novation and also need to pick up the FBT but with a company car lease you have no responsibilities for anything.

I had the same problem, any vehicle with less than 100000km was over $35000 as you say. In the end i opted for a late model 98 300TDi instead to keep the loan repayments down, 17k was much more affordable. MattOriginally posted by Maxi

PCH,
Potentially he could be on a 3 year plan (but unsure). With it clocking over 100,000km (Expired Factory Warranty), I hope the Lease/whatever plan it's on, is able to sell at Residual value. Hence placing me in a Savings Plus position.
I look forward to making a bid and hopefully am able to drive away (paddy bash to a certain extent) in an HSE! Gotta love that!
Ace,
Obviously you and I have been experiencing the same issues. Prices are inflated as the Factory Warranty hasn't expired. Anyways good luck with your find!
