Nissan up in smoke

Hi Guys
I have a strong suspision I witnessed one of those 3 litre Nissan Patrols die yesterday.
I was driving my truck,as I came over a crest I could see in the next valley a huge smokescreen,I MEAN HUGE.
As I crested the next hill a nissan 3lt turbo wagon was drawing to a stop,I slowed but the driver remained in his vehicle,he is a local,I waved but continued on my way, soon as I passed he got out and opened the bonnet.
There were no fires anywhere, its too green and wet to burn anything anyhow,so I guess that was a GENUINE NISSAN SMOKESCREEN intended to make a landy driver run off the road

AND TOJO PROBLEMS
Apparently Tojo 100 Series owners are finding that 100 to 150 thou Ks is the limit for thier factory 4.2 turbo diesels, the bottom end apparently has 2 bolt mains, whilst the older 4.2 normal aspirated has 4 bolt mains,GO FIGURE It seems its mainly a problem when used for heavy towing.THE FIX 10 to 12 GRAND UNTIL NEXT TIME

The above stories are absolute rubbish!

Everybody, but everybody, knows that Toymotors and Nissans don't have any problems. Just read the Overlander or Aust 4WD Monthly forum

You see ron, LandyAndy's stories are more credible, because we heard them from him direct, not a mate of a mate of a cousins sisters mate.

Cant say i am really all that upset to hear it either. Matt

Sorry to hear about that bloke's engine, Andy. I was very impressed with that Nissan that came along on the Saturday drive.

Interested to hear what you say about the 100 Series and the bottom end. I know somebody who is about to buy a Troopy 4.2 turbo for towing a "slightly over engineered" camping trailer he built. Would it be a possible problem. He is a guy who insists on 400K from any vehicle.

At least Nissan have been coming to the party.

Us poor P38A owners have been hit with pretty massive bills for replacement engines, too, after liner slipping and/or cracked blocks.

LR aren't helping at all.
