What's wrong with the way that truckies have been doing it for years ??? :o
Slide a tyre lever or bar (I use my wheel brace) under the tyre and lift this to raise the wheel into position. Move the lever from side to side to "rotate" the wheel to align with the studs.
Works for me. ;)
I have more problem lifting a wheel onto the wheel carrier at the back and lining up the studs on that after I've changed a tyre than I do actually fitting a wheel to the vehicle.
With the problems that some are having fitting a wheel to a Land Rover, I'd hate to see them ever have to fit a steer tyre onto a Kenworth (or a proper truck, like a MACK just for Ian). :p
