    20yr old daughter wants a 4wd - Recommendations?

My 20yr old daughter has decided she wants a 4wd. She has no mechanical aptitude whatsoever and generally relies on myself, her mum (Pocket Rocket) or her brother to do basic things on her car such as changing headlight globes. I've advised her that if she wants to go off road that she needs to change this.

My thoughts are that she should buy something newer if she can as less likely to need significant mechanical repairs.

She's thinking of a budget of $30 - 35k based on selling her car, her savings and a small loan.

She wants one so when we go 4wd driving she can participate rather than being a passenger with either us or her brother.

I'm seeking recommendations for vehicles she should consider. She's indicated that she doesn't want a ute or large car so other than a 90 any other suggestions?

Agree with the challenger idea, but, would suggest zooki Tara. Just bought a 2012 for my mum, to replace her older jx 95. That thing was a beast. The new ones are even better, having all the mod cons and reliability of the old days. It's brilliant!

That might be her only option. I should mention she's a midget. She didn't get to 5ft and I just put her in the Defender and the steering wheel blocks her vision.

    RAV4

Whenever I see a RAV4, a chicky babe is driving it.
Must be a popular SUV amongst chicky babes.

LoneRanger has just taken her out for a drive in my Deefer. I decided not to go coz I know I'll get too nervous and then make her nervous. Hope it comes back in one piece!

For that price range, why not a D3? The Challenger would be a more cumbersome vehicle, even if it looks smaller. The D3 has a very tight turning circle, good economy (TDV6), great access for passengers in skirts (lowered suspension), and awesome passenger/cargo configurations. Plus way more style and comfort.

Depends what she wants a 4wd for, Forester would be good for a midget or a Jimny if she actually wants to go offroad.
