I went veggie for a while after almost meeting the Saviour following ingestion of some Lamb chops somewhat past their sell by date. I couldn't bear to go without bacon though so had to hunt down the vegetarian option - which wasn't anything like the real stuff - but wasn't all that bad either. I prefer the unsmoked stuff.

The daughter sent me a pic of the first dozen eggs from the new chooks at our country place, so I'm definitely taking quality bacon to have with several eggs when we are up there the weekend after next. Bacon and eggs with BBQ sauce and fresh plunger coffee - yum!

Agreed. Even here in suburbia I do that. The meat is noticeably better tha the fare from our local chain supermarket, and much bigger range.Quote:
