I think Costco meats are better than anything you see in a regular supermarket. Their chops are chunky too!

There is real bacon and then There is REAL Bacon.
Is yours artificially smoked? corned with a syringe ,most stuff from the yanks is plastic food, over processed and coloured.
They even have artificial cheese

the only real bacon I've eaten for a while is from a butcher that smokes his own in the traditional way, you can smell the smokey meat from a few doors down from his shop. the other was a mates farmer who would smoke Wild pig in his "rocket contraption" he built. You could have your bacon any thickness up to 1" thick

Love good bacon which as you say takes a little effort to find. Is though worth the effort.

One local custom here in the IK that I have never been able to understand is the way they treat bacon in a shop. Is cooked then left. When someone wants some they the put it in the microwave to reheat it. Means you do not wait as long for the bacon to cook however the product is not very good.

Bacon, egg and a slice or two of bread fried in the bacon fat, you can't get a better breakfast.

I am not sure what you could be referencing ??

Cosco has opened in SA and I was in a semi hostage situation with the minister for war and finance when she took me there when we went to
'the big smoke'.

Interesting, some stuff seemed like bargains, others when you googled a price comparison werent that flash.

As for "the store that shall not be named" they have again delayed construction etc of a local store (@ 88 kilometres away) near me.

so they are still "not to be named" at my residence!!

(besides if we all make an effort to spend $20 in local stores/on local produce each week, we will reinforce local and rural towns/livlihoods and businesses! therefore theyll still be there as a choice for my kids and maybe a source for employment etc etc )
