Thread: Some businesses obviously dont want business

Not just down there Craig. Same up here. Shaun went in to get some black wrap paint yesterday afternoon to start doing the wheels on his Amarok. They had one can of black and one can of blue on the shelves, and couldn't tell him if / when there would be more stock available.

I'd hazard a guess it was the same Super sign on the front of the building too.

Fortunately, we have three other stores within spitting distance - Repco on one side of the road, and the big blue castle and Auto One right next door to each other on the other side. There's also a new ARB shop in where Solomons Carpets used to be - they are pretty well stocked with a lot of 4WD gear - AND they're Land Rover fanatics, with Ben and his wife owning at least five of the brand.

It's the current generations attitude. Get used to it. It's going to get worse.

They have no job security and are poorly mentored. On the other side of the fence they are constantly told they have all the rights in the world.

I think a lot of retail chains should look at McDonalds. Yep, occasionally I visit that store. I always get crap product but great service.
But, yes, service isn't everything.

These are the businesses that cry out to shop local no doubt, while at the same time encouraging people to find better alternatives to them.

They might be using the McDonald's where I live as a mentor. They are hopeless. They never get a order correct.

We have been calling about to get quotes on a split air con for a rental unit. The sticking point seems to be they dont want to detail how it will be fitted for body corp knowledge and approval. So far after a few months only one has come through.

Have to agree with you there Mick. Service at the two local Maccas stores is second to none (whether you like their product or not might be a different story).

There's a saying locally about their major competitor ...................

"The Burgers are Better at Hungry Jacks ...................... But the Service is Crap".

I'm guessing with the trend of supermarkets making you work their registers for them, it wont be too long before Maccas make you cook your own hamburgers.
