yer , I get that !!!
I try to keep my weeks to 4 days , but my whining clients usually have other ideas ..
I even find myself going out Sat mornings to check and look at the list of Service calls that I missed through the dam week !
I wish some one would wave a dam wand over me and shoot me into another life some weeks ...![]()

I have just turned 65 (semi retired) and still working 2 casual jobs (when it suits me) I would love to be fully retired and only do what I want to but unfortunately I am not that financially secure, also I reckon you have to be busy otherwise you go downhill quick. I have seen that happen to a few of my mates over the last few years. I am planning to do some gold prospecting in my retirement and hopefully will combine my love of the outback and camping out with a modest income from what I find.
Cheers......Brian

Yeah - I'm a bit too young to retire (53) but have had a lot of thoughts about doing that.
Pity you can't get an accurate date (just to the nearest year would be good) when you're going to kark it! Then I'd know how much I have to save to keep going![]()
It is starting to get that way, but I couldn't just stop, I'd be bored ****less. At the end of the year I'll go casual and work no more than 20 hours a week. I've already told the supervisor and he said he would arrange something for me, there is plenty of casual work available.
Sixty two here and, after 42 years of working, I'm planning ahead for retirement in a couple of years.

Exactly,i am a year older than you and thinking about it as well.
What i am worried about is all of a sudden having not much to do,it would definitely be a massive shock to the system.I have been running my own show since '91.We often work 7 days. Both my sons are in it,but there is way to much to do,they need me as well.I have tried the four day week, but didn't seem to work.
Oh well, will have to sort it out in the near future i suppose.
I retired 8 years ago this month at 55, as the corporation I worked for gave me an offer I could not refuse. This was after 38 years in the aviation industry & I was concerned, but tell you what this 8 years has been the quickest of my life. We did get a small acerage property mainly for the shed to keep the Land Rovers in, but the workload on the property, small orchard, veggie patch, 3 acres of grass & 2 acres of tall Jarrah bush keeps me so busy that the Land Rover work takes a distant 2nd.
We also have been unable to sell our house in Perth so looking after 2 properties & several vehicles has me so busy that I wonder how I ever had time for work. Also have a nice bunch of Land Rover Series 1 friends that meet up every couple of months for lunch & a couple of trips away a year.
Several of my working predecessors who retired at normal age only lasted a year or less in retirement, which is when I decided to go early if offered & did. Both my wife & I have had the big C scares so just do what you think is best for you, life is short so just live it.
You are living my dream.I dont want to work much past 50,only a year to go.
Still arguing with the lotto godz upon when I can enact this plan
I have back pain issues, the frosty mormings and now the man flu brings home the fact I cant operate machinery for ever.My good lady is suffering from the results of a stroke. As you say, life is short so just live it
About to recite 100 Hail Lotto Godz.
