The Vikings called it " the drink of the Gods"

Honey mead. My son is a keen home brewer, and we will be making mead, to enter in the Redcliffe show next year. Will obviously have to sample a few, to make sure we get it right. Bob

Hi Bob , when I read your post , I thought I think I have some mead somewhere in my bar . So had a look and there It was . A bottle of Maxwell Mead , from McLaren Vale SA. It says the nectar of the Greeks , the honeymoon drink . The Vikings believed It to have the virtues of an Aphrodisiac . It has been on a shelf for quite a long time , in fact I can't remember when I brought It ! Anyway I purred a small glass . It's not a drink I could drink a lot of , but I gave It a go !!.. cheers Jim

All I can say to this

    "Thank God for the Irish"

Give me an Irish or Scotch single malt Whiskey/Whisky any day.

Oh and good luck with the mead, hope you brew a good batch for the competition, there's a lot of good brewers out there, craft brewing is growing so fast, even the big brewers are now getting into craft beer and meads.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Thanks, a new experience, for sure. I just hope it's drinkable. BTW Northsiide Beekeepers won the best display at the Redcliffe show, again!. Next year I hope to put my first honey entry in. Bob
