Ah I worked out the difference

    V8 compared to TDi

in QLD it is based on number of cylinders

in NSW it is on Tare weight of vehicle

my TDi is only $560 app inc CTP, if it was a V8 it would be $780 app inc CTP, hence the saving on the Defender when I changed from NSW to QLD rego 8O

30mpg and over $200 cheaper in rego, who cares if diesel is 15c a litre dearer

Nope, about the $220 mark for the rego and the rest for the greenslip. Matt
Whats the Tare weight for a disco, cause according to the NSW RTA site $220 is for up to 1154kg only, I think a disco is a bit heavier than that 8O

    As per the RTA site

Size of vehicle Tare Weight Private Business

    Cars station wagons and trucks

    up to 975kg $200 $295

    976kg to 1154 kg $220 $325

    1155kg to 1504kg $247 $372

    1505kg to 2504kg $352 $537

    Greenslip quotes I priced ranged from $256 to $440 8O 8O

Not trying to irritate anyone over this just interested as my rego is due now in QLD so Ive been looking at pricing and I know when I transferred the Defender from NSW to Qld rego 5 yrs ago there was a big saving, wouldn't have thought that Bobby Boy would let it get cheaper down there

I paid $220 for rego and $440 for my CTP when i registered the Disco last september after i got it blue slipped cause it was registered in ACT.

As for CTP being older for cars over 10yrs, not sure on that OI, i have always paid about the $400 mark and my first car was a 20yr old escort. And i registered my commodore again before i sold it to my brother last year and it was 11yrs old, still $440. Matt
