    Finally got my new wheels and tyres for the D3 sorted

    Okay guys.

    Thanks to Hiline's recommendation I've now got a set of rims and tyres worthy of off-roading for the D3.

    For all of you who don't know the saga, the D3 SE and HSE TDV6 models come with standard 18" rims and you cannot get a AT tyre in the right size to fit 18" rims. Another major problem is you cannot get a snow chain to clear the suspension.

    However you can get a 17" AT tyre in about the right size (i.e. overall diameter) as the original from Cooper Tyres but getting a rim to fit with the right offset, stud hole diameter and spigot diameter is the problem.

    You can buy for about $6K a set of LR rims in 17*7 which come on the D3 S 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O or you can find a great tyre dealer as Hiline has suggested to me who will ring around and find a wheel manufacturer who is willing to help out.

    So now I've got a set of Performance Wheels (Style BB6 with the small centre) 17* 8 and a set of Cooper Suretrac S/T's 245/70R17.

    Better still I've also picked up the 4WD chains from ARB so I'm also ready to hit the snow and the snow trip in a few weeks :wink: :wink:

    Thats for sure, i couldnt imagine paying $6000 for a set of rims, cant really see how LR can put a value like that on it when most aftermarket wheel manufactures charge about $300. Matt
