A member of the Vintage Speedcar Club Qld. has an Offenhauser polished up and fitted with a glass top for a coffee table. Another of my slightly loony friends got a Merlin crankshaft from me long, long, ago, and has it brightly polished, coated with clear lacquer and mounted on a silky oak plaque in his rumpus room. I recently pointed out to him that it is a good crank and re-usable and today is worth at least a couple of grand, so if he sells it, half is mine.
