I'd think about a set of Narva 175's.
I had Yoshi's blue lensed pair on the Disco and was more than happy with the light.
IMO they will do what you want to achieve.
    Cheers, Kyle

Actually do the 5000's for your size limit, they would be under$500

    Very happy with the result

    Pete.

Super Oscars are silly expensive new now, the Nite Stalker equivalent is a replica (they copied the reflector and lens, made in Taiwan instead of the EU) with the same performance at half the price.
    They really are good value.

Well, I went a shopping - actually to look at a set of Narva's as this style and size would suit the X Trail, but I found something else while looking.

I didn't think IPF did anything under 200mm but they do, and they are nice little lights too, so I bought a set - IPF968's. These have been around for a bit by the look of it and seem to get good reviews in this size range of driving light and they didn't cost the earth either. Made in Japan too. They are a dual reflector job, so spot and spread reflectors built into each light - a compromise yes, but the optics are actually very good and I did manage to do myself quite a mischief when I hooked one up to a battery earlier while it was pointing in my direction....

Kit comes complete with switch, relay and wiring loom. Nudge bar is getting picked up tomorrow. Price was $240 for the kit - they are a bit cheaper on line if you shop around, but I like buying stuff over the counter like this.

I have a pair of Hella Rally 1000's on the Rangie both long range spots and have no trouble at 110-120kph fitted with 55w globes, slim chrome and neat, the RRC has Narva 55w+100% globes fitted as does my D1 gives good white light and high beam fixes those drop-kicks with roof mounted lights and 36inch light bars.

While people focus a lot on driving lights and hi beam, I actually think high beam is easy because there are multiple ways to put out huge amounts of light. I reckon the quality of low beam is actually more important in most driving situtions.

Agree totally but it's the hardest one to change legally.

    Happy Days.
