Thread: LRCOV - Mt Skene trip - how was it?

I happened to be up to Mt Skene with my local 4wd club Sunday the 2nd Aug.(yes we had permits) and came across the LROCV leaf spring trip group. I was in the Silver Disco
Was just wondering how the rest of your trip was.

It was my 2nd time up in the winter. This year there was more snow than last year when we went. unfortunately I got bogged 3 times. Once you broke through the packed crust or got out of the tram tracks you were pretty much and done and dusted. I happened to bounce out of the main ruts in a couple of spots and got stuck that way. The use of a shovel was handy.

After lunch it was an easier trip down as things softened up a bit and was not as slippery as the morning.

My kids had a great time playing in the snow at the top.
