Well, I suppose it was too much to expect anything positive wasn't it?
But here we go Aussie Subs to be built in S.A.,....2800 jobs, and servicing etc to be done in S.A. indefinitely,....oh, & I forgot, the announcement did mention that Aussie steel was to be used.
But no-one has anything positive to say?
Well, I think it's good anyway, and I'm sure that everyone involved with this job creating project will think so too.

Its funny you say that , I watched 7.30 tonight which I rarely do , and they are interviewing the PM and he is getting asked why aren't we building the subs in France and importing them over ? How much extra are we paying by building them here ? How much of them will be built here ? Is this to get votes.....who bloody cares, they are getting build here. Whats the problem.

Surely the questions should be "Are we using 100% Australian products where we can" , Steel , electrical cable , etc etc etc.

No wonder our country is in so much trouble. The media doesn't even support Aussie made.

Instructive to check History... of the Collins class steel fabrication.- Welding done in Oz proved to be way better than similar pieces of the hull done in Sweden.

But agree with your comments about the 'Media'... as has been shown recently, the temptation to make a story more....interesting... is hard to resist.

LOL:...STILL nothing positive from "The Usual Suspects",.....UNREAL.
Biggest spend in Naval History, biggest ever spend on any Govt project EVER, even bigger spend than the Snowy system, untold amount of work for building & MAINTENANCE,.....but nothing positive from the "Usual Suspects"?
C'Mon Guys, this ain't "Political",....maybe it is to you guys, but NOT TO ME,...this is good for AUSSIE......IMHO of course.
    Pickles.
NB:, Can't see ANY negatives about this, BUT, I am of course waiting for the negatives that will eventually come from,.....the usual suspects.

    Positives from me.

Congrats on both French and Australian governments for having them built here.

We had a fantastic run from their Mirage 111's , hope the subs are the same.

O'Connel St will probably gain a couple of french restaurants.

Politicians will have crash course in french language.

Escargot will become popular on menus, while Japan and TA will eat humble pie.
