    Hey Ian!

I saw a triple axle twin steer body truck today,,
looked to be brand new, rolling along, on all 16 wheels, on the Bruce at 100kph,,

What happens when it needs to turn?

Commonly called ten wheelers and popular as tippers, hotmix carting, fuel and other bulk commodities. Good for 20 odd tonne odd, in a rigid truck. Disadvantage, as you say, heavy on tyres. Better than a semi to back into a paver and easier to juggle in a tight site. They've been around for a couple(+) years now, I think your former slave owner has some.

Yeah, ideal and popular as cement trucks Paul. Only the front two axles (single tyres) steer, but some can retract a rear axle for empty running. The usual configuration is 10X4 but some are 10X6.

must be pretty crowded underneath, what with rams and fuel and hydraulic tanks tucked away,, 'cos theres no room in-between the steers and drives!

    It would be for you.
But seriously, it would be a PiA to do a brake adjustment or anything underneath.
