I scored this up on the weekend... What a PITA ... I managed to back the car trailer under it after slinging it from the middle to lift it with an engine crane (it's VERY heavy) ... Then I did the same thing to get it off in my shed ... The bench top is about probably 4" thick with a plywood top sheet (I guess the idea is you change the top sheet as it gets battered).

It's 4meters long ... it was hell of a job to re-arrange the shed to get it in in 33degree heat. I'll probably have everything put back away by the end of the week though. The only problem is of course it's not really high. If that ever bothers me I'll just throw a couple of railway sleepers under it to lift it up.

it's taken about 8hours of cleaning and moving to make that grey'ish stuff visible. I try to keep this shed as a work area, and all the crap gets stored in other sheds that don't have a proper floor.

I have a high school work bench as well, actually it came from a TAFE.

Very similar to yours, they were going to dump it

    Mine has a stainless top

Stored at my brothers ATM while my new shed is being built.

Will get a pic once it is in place.

The bench is bloody heavy, but very solid.
