I think we are agreeing on the phone line thing. It cost $15 more to have a phone line and internet than it does to have raw internet. IE. Raw internet is $79. Internet + Land Line is $69 + $25 = $94.
I had checked that I had ADSL at the home before I rented it but I wasn't aware it was a smart estate or what that meant.
As for duty of care. There is no way the workshop would be held legally liable but possibly a civil case could be raised and then it would consider if something as simple as putting water in the washer bottle should have been the responsiblilty of the workshop or it's a reasonable requirement of the driver.
The SA Motor Vehilce ACT 1959, sect 9 is pretty interesting. So if you leave your car parked on the street and rego runs out while you are away on holidays or something, you are liable for a fine. WOW. Wonder how often that's been pushed by the PoPo.
Beyond caring? Don't chicken out now. It's discussions like this that keeps the brain alive. I just paid a consecutive months subsctiption to the forum because of this thead. I usually only subscribe every second month as it's something else I am against paying for. But what do you know too many other peolple just went along with it and her we are paying for it.
