I don't accept the argument that as Parents you shouldn't be expected to know what your kid is doing 24/7. That should be your first priority. Also - the thought that you may not know that your child has / is using a bike illegally on the road sounds a nonsense to me. Who bought the bike - who buys the petrol , where's the kid spending its time and how is it getting there and back? I think the thought that the parents should have some kind of responsibility in law for the actions of the child is a good one. And like the recent thread on the idiot who ran over the Wombats - for God's sake , crush the bloody bikes when you find them on the road.
