I put it in a safe place

    Hello All,

Sometime early last year I put my close to brand new electric soldering iron "some place safe". I then had one of those days where I wanted to test a car battery and I found that the battery in the multimeter was flat. When I took the 9 volt battery out one of the terminals had corroded on. This meant that the terminal stayed attached to the battery and separated itself from the terminal clip. One of the wires also pulled out of the terminal

Easy fix it will just take me five minutes with the soldering iron and I will be back in business. Of course the safe place were I last stored the soldering iron was not forthcoming and it refused to relinquish its hold.

Today, after moving interstate for work and then coming back home, getting another job that involved intra-state travel I have had some time to fit a new battery clip. Because the safe place still has its relentless hold on the soldering iron, I went to a hardware store. It took me nearly half an hour to decide which one to buy do I want a two power iron or a single power, or a two power with a desk station?

Anyway, job done and I can put a battery back in my multimeter.

Where am I going to store the new soldering iron? Not in a bloody safe place that is for sure! What is the bet that the next time I go into my shed the old soldering iron will come out of its safe place.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

I put a boat rego sticker in a safe place about 5 or 6 years ago. Yep, although I have turned the house over a couple of times, it's still safe.
