    What are the odds?

I came out of my shed this morning to find these guys stopped in my driveway tieing their newly acquired Haflinger onto their trailer. They had just bought it off a farmer not far from here and had been looking for a level spot to get off the road and tie it down properly.

Funny thing is, I used to own this very Haflinger 27 years ago.
As you would expect, we had a good chat. The new owner is from Monbulk, has another Haffy as well as a couple of Pinzgauers.

I wonder if the original owner took it to Corowa a couple of years ago. We had our 101 with a pinz and there was a haffie there who said they had a pinz.

This one wouldn't have been driving anywhere a couple of years ago, it is in shocking nick, no motor and I think even the tyres were rusted out. They had to sit the body back on the chassis to load it on the trailer.
I knew it was in the area, the older farmer who had it cut some hay for us when we first moved here about 15 years ago, when i went around to pay him I saw it sitting in his yard. He bought it off the guys who I sold it to. He died about 10 years ago I reckon, I had no idea what had become of the Haffie but it was his son who just sold it.

Bloke who bought it wasn't Peter, he's an Italian guy around mid 60s. Left me his number hoping I could find some old photos of it.
He would probably appreciate being put in touch with other enthusiasts if anyone would like me to pass their number on.
