At work we use Acers and Gateways, with all the trimmings. So far they have taken a beating and kept going.

Those experts in PC's etc could you have a look at www.bitdistribution.com.au computers for cars. A mate of mine sent this to me and looks interesting, any one know of them or how good these are. The S620 -625 look OK, not lap top, but I've got two good desktops so it would stay in the car anyway, thanks guys

Cheers Bryce

I hear you INC.

Just recounting my stories of success with Dell. Always been with large consulting companies and always had good service backing (which we have needed at times, but always prompt and efficient).

Did I mention its the LATITUDE business laptops we've used, I haven't tried an Inspiron.

I'll also say no more.

I bought the Aldi Generator today. One year replacement warranty!
Fired it up tonight, runs well, reasonably quiet.
Did not use their oil though. (10W30 recycled Chinese dinosaurs  ). I filled it up with Magnatec 10W40 instead.
Just need to hook it into the caravan and fire up the aircon unit for a load test.

The specs are 2000w with a 2200w surge capacity. The aircon is 17-1800w so it should be ok. I ran it for an hour last night with a hand lamp attatched and it appeared to have a stable output. (no pulsing light shows!) I am surprised at the apparent quality and the finish of the castings, paint finish etc. The engine is very quiet and vibration free. Only time will tell if it is of an Engel type quality. (My Engel is now 10 years old).

I assume we are talking 2000w and not 2000Kw

Arrrrg! Brain fade, ops: , or excitement.

You are correct. I will amend my post.

Trev.

PS. I have hooked up the aircon unit to it and it worked fine. The gen did not appear to notice the load. A good sign.
