    NSW Beach Permits

    Hey All,

Been a while! Question for the coastal dwellers of NSW - Is there a single permit that can cover all beaches available for driving on in NSW? We're doing a trip after Xmas from Brisbane to Sydney via the coast and was hoping to drive every (allowed) beach on the way down. A single NSW permit would be easier than finding each place that sells them for the particular area...

    Cheers in advance!
    -Adam.

No, the permits tend to be different for every beach and are sold locally at tourist info centres or garages.

Now that would be smart wouldn't it ?

    Next question ?

Sorry, but it ****s me to tears that we have to be gouged to drive on every seperate beach. I own a Land Rover ... do they think I'm made of money ???

    Enjoy your trip!

I think you'll find beach permits are usually administered by local councils.

It's more like a dog's breakfast now with everyone getting in on the act. Councils charge you for any council reserves and npws charge you for their beaches. For example, Stockton used to be administered by Port Stephens Council, now it is by the Worimi Conservation Lands. Blacksmiths is by Belmont Wetlands State Park and only introduced a few weeks ago. You can still drive Samurai Beach for free.

And is there a single list of all those drivable NSW beaches available anywhere?
