Kings Roof Top Tent Vs Darche

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone used a Kings roof top tent and how does it compare to the Darche,

The kings is bigger and cheaper. We are doing 2 weeks in it.

    Thanks

I'm in the same boat as I'm on the hunt for a RTT and not sure on what brand. With Kings, u do get a great deal for the price; the stitching; waterproof tape used over the stitching all looks good. I don't know what grade the canvas on the Kings but looks ok to me. One thing I noticed with the display model I was checking out was when u climbed into the Kings, the floor squeaked.
The mattress on the Darche didn't look all that thick and I'm not sure how comfy it would be.....

    There's a big price difference in the 2.... some $700 difference !!!

I've used the rooftop tent and single pole tourer type tents. The smaller oztrail 9 would be as good or better than a RTT. We used a RTT for the Simpson. It worked well and gave the wife some comfort being up off the ground away from any snakes, dingoes etc. The height of the 110 made set up and pack up a pain. It was good when moving every day. But would be a pain if staying in one place for a while.

My pick would be an Oztent RV 4 or 5.

Someone we know bought a RTT but he weighs 95kg and the floor was too weak so they had to put extra supports under it.
