Hoons the message just doesn't sink in!

Here one day, gone the next

Rosebud Highway Patrol members detected a car travelling at almost double the speed limit in Rye this afternoon.

It's alleged the Holden Commodore was detected travelling along Marshall Avenue at 98/kph in a 50/kph zone about 3.05pm.

The driver, a 17-year-old Langwarrin boy, then attempted to flee from police, but due to heavy traffic was unable to.

He underwent an oral fluid test which detected the presence of Cannabis.

The boy is a disqualified learner and had only purchased the car yesterday.

Police impounded his Commodore for 30 days and he will have to pay $1010 in towing and storage costs to get it back.

It was also issued with a defect notice.

The driver is expected to be charged on summons with drive whilst disqualified, speed dangerous, evade police, use false plates and use unsafe vehicle.

Investigators are awaiting forensic testing of the oral fluid test.

Ridiculous, but the big question is,.....what will the punishment be, or rather will there even be any?
Some sort of fine, which he won't be able to pay? a C.B.O.etc etc etc?, some sort of "story" from a smart lawyer?,..."got in with the wrong people, He's learned his lesson, family will look after him"!!! ra ra ra,...heard it all before.
Put him in gaol with the big boys?.......naaahhh, FAR too many do-gooders for that.

The least of the issues...I'm worried about drive disqualified, evade police and stolen plates. Some serious anti-social disrespect for others and the law. Fines and revocation of license, even taking the vehicle has not corrected / will not correct the anti-social lawlessness obviously entrenched in this individual. I see bigger issues, already strayed to the Darkside he has
