Aussies providing and delivering hay to the drought stricken farmers

Burrumbuttock Hay Runners
This was not the first ...... or second......... but the 10th delivery of hay to the drought stricken farmers and involved more than 100 trucks.
It's good to hear of that the Aussie Spirit is certainly alive and well. Great effort by this group.![]()

The latest hay run is to Ilfracombe. All the way from country NSW. Legends indeed.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Here is a Landline report from April. There has been good rain in the area recently, but of course, it takes time to recover. The group helping here is called Aussie Assist, they come in towards the end of the report. The Ilfracombe/ Longreach area is where I grew up as a boy. The most vivid memory of the area for me is of the smell of rotting sheep., during a very bad drought in the 50's. The second most vivid memory is of a massive flood, Dad had to ride his horse & a pack horse across a couple of flooded creeks to get food from the main homestead. It's a hard country, but it breeds resilient people.
