    Topographic map symbols - help?

I've been scouring for an answer online, and this doesn't seem to rate a mention.
I've been looking over the NSW topographic maps for some potential trails, and noticed numbers that are found near some cliffs (circled):

Any idea what these mean? 23r 140r etc...
This is the map service I'm looking at fyi...

    Escarpment
A depression contour As for the numbers no idea. Im guessing it references the geology of the rockface

So what does the numbers mean?
They don't seem to align with the elevation...
Is there some system that is used for the type of cliff / escarpment?

Relative height. Variable as to what is denoted but includes cliff heights, height of small hills above surrounds, etc. Usually topographically significant features that are not amenable to illustration with contours.

The numbers relate to how many Toyotas have failed to make the climb.

Excellent, so looking west at the feature, the larger the number, the more prominent the landmark?

This may help, you may have to do a bit of jiggery pokey to get it to a reasonable size.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
