Take the exit at the BP, cross under the highway and turn onto the old road.

Moobal is on the old road, the new road bypasses it.
The new highway runs to the west of the old but east of Billinudgel. The pies are still good, by all accounts. ;)
There is man exit at Mooball and you can see it from the new road.

Thanks Phillip, I'll look again on Monday, I'm up and down there most days.
I had a look at the map and the exit is a few ks south and the road is the Tweed valley way ( route 40)' and you turn north on it., and goes through crabbes creek.
Just lookup apple or google maps and you will get the idea.

Ian, the Putty road is very popular with the biking fraternity, it's quite a lengthy drive, the road is very curvy (a few people have been killed) but there is a cafe about half way along it that is also popular as a drop in place.:)
I think sometimes there are more police patrols on the Putty than there are riders.
A great ride though I've been totally frustrated by cops on the couple of times I've been on it.
If you creep up by about 5kmh , you seem to see one in your mirrors.
Yeah Jim, I've only done it in a truck, twas hard work.
I used to regularly ride with friends from from Hornsby up the old pacific H'way to Newcastle,on my BMW.Once took 3 lanes to cross that bridge, after a night on "InnerCircle"rum,(186 US Proof) not the stuff you buy now, got it from the Seargent's mess at More Park Barracks, then I met my wife and became sorta normal.
cheers
