Rode home from a camping trip on the bike, great ride with very little traffic, as we took all the back roads, had a great weekend away.
Well, Wifey & I have been in the habit of going to Wycheproof for the last few years. There is a lovely ceremony in Centenary Park, local & Shire awards are made, local school children sing Aussie songs (incl. a ripper called "A Mallee Boy!), and the event commences with a Bacon & Egg BBQ put on by the Lions Club. Very Aussie, and very good.
Whilst up there we went to the Quambatook Historical Machinery Field day, The Catalina Museum at Lake Boga, and the Nhill Airfield Museum,......Lots to see in the Mallee!
Here are a few pics.

My neighbour and his family and friends and my lot take our boats out on Sydney Harbour, decked out in Aussie flags and head over to Watson's Bay where we anchor just off shore, atke the BBQ up on the seawall and cook prawns, Lamb Kebabs and Lamb Cutlets washed down with a few bevvies.
After lunch we swim, play beach cricket and the ladies serve the green and gold layer cakes, passionfruit slice and bickies
The designated skippers then take us home. I'm lucky my daughter is a naval officer so driving my boat is a breeze for her. She also takes thre little ones for a ride on her paddle board.

With the potential for a 4 day break we headed down to Bendethera for the weekend, weather was OK but not as good as it could have been. A bonus was the place was almost deserted.
Within 1km of home I had a nail through a tyre so a quick change and then back home to pick up another spare had us delayed a bit on departure time.
Between Western Boundary road and Plumwood tower we had to clear a tree off the track - the hard way.
The river was still around 300mm higher than normal but not a problem to negotiate the 3 crossings, with us setting up camp between Joeys flat and the Homestead flat.
The rain mainly held off until the morning of Australia Day, but then we headed home in rain all the way back to Nowra.
Unfortunately although there weren't too many people there the idiots did pay a visit ignoring all the 'closed for revegetation' signs and having a play in the mud/churning up the river flats. Had a speak to NPWS people but unfortunately didn't have regos only descriptions.

Had 20 friends around for a long lunch - two butterflyed legs of lamb on the barbie & a few kilos of snags with mixed herbs in the large camp oven plus a few salads, followed by a large pav & a fruit flan in the form of a map of Australia, girt by sea.
PS - Nice photos as usual Martyn, especially the ones of the river.
