Having been to Lake Eyre many times I have found it to be very harsh on the skin and eyes.

Hey Den, yep skin protection in very important. We get a few internationals fly in and they get a shock as to how hot our part of the word is. The sun reflects of the salt so baggy shorts aren't ideal. Long pants and sleeves are the order of the day for me.
