Hail damage
Hi,
Well, we have had two hailstorms in recent weeks, both whilst I was away.
The rising tide in the kitchen gave some pointers as to nature of damage on the roof - 20 year old polycarbonate skylight tiles shredded....
Detailed examination of the defender located a lens and cover broken.
Luckily no other damage. Well none that I could see, or none that was any worse than 20 years of general wear and tear......

Hail is ever increasing, imho, and after having one of our cars absolutely HAMMERED by hail (400+ dents) a few years ago, is a cause for concern for me.
Whenever I see dark clouds, I start to "think".......I know ya can't be paranoid, but if ya've ever copped a serve of hail on a car that is special to you, ya'll understand what I mean.

Look on the Bright Side... park outside... get 'hailed' upon so that your car looks like a golf-ball... and save up to 10% of fuel use!
Or, if you'd prefer smoooother surfaces..and only around 5% better fuel, go for the AIRTABS. - Would be useful on a D1 or D2. - Don't think any 'Deafeners' could go fast enough to make them worthwhile, though the improvement in aerodynamics might well go into double-digits.

VIDEO: Mythbusters test golf ball-like dimpling effect on fuel economy (*Spoiler Alert!*)
Or, you could take the cheap way out and get artistic with a ball-pein hammer...
EDIT:- They're $5.50 each from here in WA. http://www.beejays.com.au/ (Today's price, 4th Feb 2016)
Or try micro vortex generators as used by experimental aircraft... but very few LandRovers travel fast enough to generate the savings, never mind the 'vortex' . . . .
