Will he be granted time to pay?:D
We traded a car to a large dealer in Penrith and for the next 6 months we received thousands of $'s in fines, mostly for Toll fees, we filled in our half of the Rego papers informing the RTA (then) that we had disposed of the vehicle, the car dealer hadn't filled in the forms so the RTA reckoned we were the owners.
Should've went and repossessed it, we had to fill in numerous Affidavits, Regards Frank.
Same thing happened to my sister. She traded a Pajero to a car yard in western Sydney, filled out and submitted her side of the paperwork, and for the next several months received speeding and other infringements from all over Australia. She could track their trip by the fines being received in the mail! Got quite sick of it in the end.
same happened to me , the dealer didnt complete the papers.
took me over 2 yrs to sort it out during which time Vic police got on my case as well.
it's very hard not to get very , very angry with the plebians who ignore you because they're "just doing there job" and "you shouldn't get angry with them" , not they're not sympathetic or empathetic to your cause in any way and in some cases make it worse.
Sometimes common sense should prevail, no special treatment required but they could have worked it out without the court appearance. At least Norm got to tick another thing off his bucket list, plus appearing on TV.
Seems like a good bloke, looks like he's lived his life well; and gets wrangled up in this crap due to some dickhead.
well I sure hope it doesn't affect his health.....a man doesn't deserve that type of **** after living a good life.
