Just a simple question that will prove my point.
Where was land rovers biggest and longest running marketing campaign held that demonstrated their machines in the most challenging environment. Then in those not first world locations they would sometimes drive past older models used by locals.
Then again to disposable drivers longevity and adaptability are non registered images

I think it's been shown that the reason ISIS has so many Hiluxes is because certain wealthy supporters in Saudi Arabia and other places buy up Hiluxes and ship them over there. Toyota has said it doesn't sell vehicles to terrorists, so the supporters buy them and send them over as a hidden method of support.

all proper defender drivers know that wierdo, know nothing about how to make a proper four wheel drive companies took over and a real defender hasnt rolled down the production line since about 98/99

Real landrover drivers know that it all went soft and you may as well have gone and bought a RAV or delica once the springs started looking like slinkies

This is a scientific fact which I worked on on the Crappatron 1954 using the most stringent scientific methods: Land Rovers will simply not work for evil people. That is to say Series Land Rovers and Defenders.
Range Rovers are the vehicle of choice for many Drug Dealers and Gangtsers, and seem to work equally well for them as they do for the Police and Secret Service Agents. Similarly, Discoveries work perfectly well for just about any one.
When Series/Defender owners have been a little bit naughty the Land Rover will know and begin to make strange noised and do inexplicable things, thus causing the owners to do penance by crawling underneath it and removing the skin from their hands forearms and elbows and having all manner of grit, oil, caustic, acidic, and toxic fluids poured into their eyes, ears and mouths. If Land Rover owners are very naughty then their vehicles will not work at all, and in some extreme cases have been known to flip onto their lids an refuse to budge.
In short. A Land Rover owner must be of kindly soul and saintly manner. This explains why there are so many wonderful people on AULRO.
Range Rovers and Discoveries are not made in Utility form, which explains why ISIS have to drive Toyotas.
    Cheers, Billy.

One story I read speculated about whether the large number of Toyota Hiluxes stolen in Australia ended up with ISIS. No evidence, but an amusing theory.
If ISIS drove Defenders they'd be winning!

I think the writing was on the wall when they put that ridiculous tumblehome waistline on the series II, pure styling. David Bache should be ashamed of himself, turned Land Rovers into hairdresser's cars.
