My point exactly. Throwing $5K in parts at a 'cheap' euro car because it's cheap is false economy.
It's a given that parts are more expensive than the equivalent domestic vehicle, but by how much is the key. Buy it, drive it into the ground, and show no remorse.
Back to the OP for a bit. I am firmly in the camp of those who believe that the Subaru Forrester driver is the new worst driver.
They seem to be of the opinion that everyone should share the road except them.
It is true that some Camry drivers are shocking but the car has to be 10-20 years old, Maroon or Gold.
Some people have no shame.
Oh and my guess: aYM 2002 gold Camry?
Look in the boot. You should find a comprehensive house cleaning kit. :p
My wife has an XC60 T6. Goes like the clappers.
With respect to the cost of a Volvo something we discovered years ago is that like with any euro car how much one costs you depends on both how much it has been maintained and also critically who you get to do your servicing.
Here in WA I can highly recommend Daryl from the Swedish Car Company.
Old school customer service - the sort that lets the wife drop by to fix a headlight and because she has sleeping kids in the car tells her to pay next time we come for a service.
We only found them because we were about to sell my wife's first Volvo about 13 years ago when someone recommended them.
From what I read on this forum I'd say similar goes for LR. Find someone you trust and stick with them if they look after you right.
No. It's a maroon '95. 5 speed manual. I'm having fun giving it a thrash.
You know, they're not worth much. I bit disappointing given they are quite a good car.
Do you see that in the distance?

Had I been in the Commodore, they would have given chase. In the Camry, the beige of motor vehicles, they didn't bat an eyelid.
