    Ballarat insomniacs?

As I work at night, I spend a lot of time listening to ABC radio, either 612 AM while in Queensland or 94.5 FM once across the southern border. The show is Australia wide, with the opportunity to text or phone in. An inordinate number of calls seem to come from Ballarat, doesn't anyone in the 'Rat sleep?

He sleeps while others do the counting, an hour and a half for 10,000 on a double.
Move to the back of the trailers please.

    Would be like herding cats.
Are they all in plastic cages?????? The Mount Barker chooks go thru here on open semi trailers with a fixed roof.Looks like individual cages on some sort of pallet.

Modules, 4'x4'x8', a dozen plastic trays per module. 144 trays on an A, 264 on a B. Our B trailers have a lifting roof and side curtains, open fronts and a 7' hydraulically driven fan. The B looks like an ordinary curtain sider with the fan hanging off the back. When anybody asks what the fan is for, I tell them "Extra boost for going up hills."

They must have been tougher chooks back in the 70's, Ian. No fans until we got back to the depot and then a fan was attached to the back of the trailer. But then again, the trailers were set up differently in the "old days" when we loaded them by hand not forklifts.

Tougher or deader Jim, we have the lowest DOA rates in the industry.

who are you delivering to Ian?

I used to do a fair bit of relief maintenance at Inghams and I could never get over those guys hanging the chooks on the kill line.
