Could be the owners wanted it to disappear so they could claim it was stolen and get the insurance payout. I remember once being told it cost more to have a vehicle stolen if it was to be found.

Could be. In which case you would imagine the insurance companies would gang up and hire an investigator to go in and record all the chassis numbers and their locations. That might teach the buggers a lesson.
    Cheers, Billy.

That might identify the vehicle and the owner, but it still wouldn't prove it was not stolen, as claimed. Apparently there are people who do this for a living. You pay them and they steal your car and make it disappear so you can claim on insurance. That's one of the reasons premiums are high, apparently.

Just a closed sign works for me.
I NEVER go into areas im not allowed too.
Just tracks with no signs. If a sign exists i hit the R lever on my car.
Thanks for associating me to the many who contribute to the problem however.

Ya know trees fall by themselves some times, and even over tracks.
No foolin i have seen it!!!

And could it be that as the price of scrap goes up the recovery rate of stolen cars goes down ?.

    Commodore haters for fun.

What young lads do is nick a car and go for a joy ride. They do things such as driving over street signs. Then they park it in an out of the way spot and torch the evidence.

To stop people from using a track, forestry people usually just fell a tree across the track.
I don't think anyone hates Commodes Mick. They might loath them. In that case they couldn't bare to touch one. I think Commodores just run away from home. If it's any consolation. I didn't see any Commodores up there.

Just to clarify for everyone else: The section of track in the photo was the last tricky bit and the hulk could have been brought there by any vehicle, truck or trailer, from the other direction.

I do think the hulk could have been put there to stop people going down the track at speed, or some other reason.

Sitek might be able to knock over a tree with his new truck but the rest of us would be confined to scrub. A bit of scrub or small tree wouldn't worry Forestry much, I reckon.
    Cheers, Billy.
