Too true! Julius Caesar mortem 709 Ab urbe condita. (2058 years ago)
More than that if it's that JC then its In memoriam NOT In memorial!
(Title already amended) :D :D
Note: sorry, I hadn't read the 2nd page before I responded.
BC should be BCE, Before Common Era, so not political/religious although the Chinese and Hindu may have a different opinion!
Because the other JC was a profit of only one religion and only recognised in one other religion.
Therefore to non-Christians, including atheists its culturally and religiously (politically) insensitive. :p
Sounds like a lot of Pythonesque bickering to me. The other cultures/religions didn't get their calendars up in time to stop the popular use of Gregory's. So they should just suck it up. Any other name will please or offend roughly the same number of people, so why change it?
I'm all for offending/annoying as many people as possible. Therefore I propose changing the year numbering to only include prime numbers, starting with 69 BC.
All this confusing days, months and years. Even the Americans can't get it right. They express it in MM/DD/YY. Very confusing.
Let's make it easier.
It is currently stardate 69670.5.
I for one would struggle with that. So, can I be the first to say " I'm annoyed offended and totally discombobulated by your silly new Calendar. I'm going out tomorrow to start a movement against it, and while I'm at it I'll post a petition on Change.org. So there".:p
