    Another Bingle for eldest son

Our eldest son Kris has got to be the unluckiest green P plater around. 3 times he has has his car run into with no fault of his own.
Last night he found a note left on his car, the driver said he accidentally hit his rear bumper.
    At least they were honest.
The strange thing is that Kris was the only car in the entire car park! I think the dark Sherwood green colour is just too hard to see hence his unlucky initiation to the driving world.
We bought him that car so far it's been a victim of 3 not at fault crashes and a theft, it was in real good nick when we bought it for him, but so battle scarred now.
Any one want to buy a 1999 Nissan pulsar?
    Cheers, Mario

Sadly, it is my experience that young and inexperienced drivers will park and drive where other young and inexperienced drivers roam. The accidents may be "not their fault" but on the other hand the kids probably aren't wise enough to avoid the daily danger zones. For example I will never park my car without assessing potential damage vectors, eg never park on a main road without indented bays or near a corner or opposite a driveway. Also being poor they can't just whip the car off to the crash shop to quickly hide the evidence before the neighbours find out.

May your lad's second and third cars last longer between bingles.

Yeah but the last one was where he is the only car in the car park and got run into. So with all that room around him, how could they possibly run into him

Easy. Car parks have "lazy lines" where people prefer to drive and park, either straight in from the entrance, curved around directly to the right, or the shortest distance to walk. Don't park either in a lazy spot, next to it or behind it. Park in a corner or against a divider, so there is one less direction you can be hit from. Most people are terrible parkers, leave room for these dummies to do their stuff. Walk ten spaces instead of one. I have a single parking space marked out in front of my house, with a big white line and a sign. 9 out of 10 people new to my place can't see it and they park either smack in the middle of the yard or across the drive, making further movement impossible. If I see them coming I stand by the space, frantically windmilling my arms to point them into the space. Reluctantly, with their wheels over the line, they pull in, trying desperately to be in the way. Out thinking these people isn't hard, just takes a little practice. Smart people drive into a tight space straight or hard left, and reverse on hard right lock into a space they can see out the side window. Most people drive in on hard right lock, then reverse on hard left lock into their blind spot and hit whatever is parked there. Don't park in that spot.

Kris comes home the other day from uni, he shows us his dash cam footage.
He was at a cross road intersection where he turns right.
He had a red light and so did all other traffic in the intersection .
A taxi opposite is stopped at a red light.
Kris gets the Green turn arrow and proceeds to make his turn. The Taxi sitting at the Red light decided to move off and go against his red light! and almost collides with Kris
Wait for it, The Taxi driver then abuses Kris! Where do they get their licences from?
