I'm going to be a dad again! -kidney stones

I have 2 kidney stones that I need to give birth too. CT scan shows I have 2 5mm stones, every now an then I can feel them kicking. More of a scratching feeling inside. A lot different to previous stones that were excruciating pain wise and needed morphine for the pain. They seemed to pass by themselves during my one night in hospital with a drip of morphine
I have some paralysis on my left side from injury , so maybe that's why they aren't really hurting me yet due to lack of feeling,
Doc asked me if I wanted a referral to a urologist. He said maybe they can blast them. I asked if it was a "done on visit procedure and he said no, they knock you out. He described the blasting like being hit with a sledge hammer on the kidney , that's why they knock you out.
Any one had this procedure done, and how long did it take and what was the process.

from what I understand of the process its like modulated UHF high power pulses that they direct into your kindeys that shakes the things apart.

doesnt sound like any kind of fun Id want to be awake from.

doesnt always work, and instead of 2 5mm stones you could have say 4x 2mm stones and some dust that will pass easily.

    good luck either way.

Yep, I had them laser blasted.

Admitted and discharged from hospital 3 times over a 5 day period due to a stone getting stuck down the 'birth cannal' from the kidney to the bladder and not passing. Docs finally decided some sort of intervention was needed.

Under a general, got a laser passed up my wizzer through the bladder and towards the offending stone. Phasers were set to 'kill' and blat, blat, blat - no more kidney stone. Destruction assured without undue trauma to surrounding tissue.

On the table about 10am, up and about by 2pm, discharged the next morning. Was magic and a tremendous relief.

After reading all that. Thankfully I have had only sand not rocks that moved on through. Funny how well you remember pain. Was when I was a young fella but I still remember.

Ive had them blasted. They really hurt. They knock u out as previously said and do the job up the old fella, then, in my case, inserted a stent thing so the bits could pass through. Drink lots of water and back in 10 days to remove stent thingy. They dont knock u out for that. In my case a very, shall we say, effeminate "male" nurse😷 grabbed the old fella, inserted a pair of what looked like tweezers and pulled out the stent thingy. It was about 20 inches long and looked like a stretched spring and was impregnated with a gritty substance which i was told was the remnants of the 8cm stone i had. Im glad its gone i can tell you. Never had so much pain in my life as that😭.

I've had 2 trips to emergency depart on previous stones and they passed with the help of morphine. Nurse ( Female) told me they are more painful than childbirth, I'll have to take her word for it as I would never know how childbirth feels.
I'm all over going to hospital, I have had too many unpleasant experiences with procedures that I'm over itall. So hopefully nature will pass them. Heather's worried as we are overseas in a couple of months, so don't need this trouble then.
I wonder how far they travel in a given length of time, they don't appear to be jammed.
Interestingly the CT scan comment were that there was "scarring on the bottom of my lungs" The doctor didn't mention this, I read it myself in the report. I was a smoker many years ago, and have worked with chemicals also.
    Cheers, mario

In 1980 I passed stones and the pain left marks in my hearth. The specialist said that it is common because it is one of the most intense pain that the human body can take.
After that I followed an advice of a doctor to my friend that used to pass stones regulatory.
Just have one whisky every evening and the stone s will never from again.
    It works!!

Mario, have plenty fluid to pass them.
