    Storage boxes behind front seats

Subject to securing them properly what (plastic?) storage boxes have people found that fit behind the front seats (I have a D2).

We've normally had our flexi-water tank on the floor there but for trips where water isn't an issue it would be good to know what people use (haven't had much luck googling and checking bunnings)!

I use one I picked up from Bunnings. Black with yellow lid (no pics, sorry).

Works OK. Have to tip it sidewise to lift it out.

With four (it'll be five at the end of April) kids in the D2a + the misses, there isn't much room left for storing anything!

I have been trying to find something similar. Not into motorbikes, but have found the following that may fit the bill.

Givi E21 Hard Pannier Set | Chiang Rai Saddlebags

I am sure "Givi" are an international brand.

Was it these ones? Just measured and seems like they may just fit with a bit of brute force!

No. Had a look on the Bunnings site but couldn't find the ones I use (they were a lot smaller than the one you posted). Can you post if the one you found fits, if so I'll grab one or two for myself.

If you are talking about fitting them to the floor after taking out the seats, The Big W boxes are just the correct size and nest into each other. One row of boxes will even fit behind the Passenger side seat with it flipped forward. I haven't tried the large side but probably there also.

You can fit 4 to 6 large and several small between the wheel arches if you mix them up. EG 2 large in the middle and 3 medium either side. Large vs large will not fit.
I held mine in with nylon straps by adding an eye to the seat mountings and running a length of 25MM angle across the back between the front tie down eye bolts and fitting large marine tiedown eyes.

I'm forever looking at the plastic storage boxes at Bunnings thinking there must be the perfect size for every job. The range is so big however, I'm never sure if I'm buying the "best" one. Too much choice. So I buy a few, then a year or two later of road testing I see which ones have survived and been the best size.

The problem is, if you go back to find the same box a year or so later, the whole range has changed. So trying to find something you or someone else bought years ago that was perfect is often hard/impossible. You really need to just pick the closest one based on dimensions and hope it's as good or better than the last one.
