Depends what sort of 2 wheel drive. 2WD drive ute no problem.

2WD say Honda Accord could maybe be a problem. I recall a thread like this years ago when someone argued that Hondas had 16 inch wheels etc and old Holdens which were widely used in teh outback only had 13 inch wheels,as the correspondent forgot how tall 640x13 tyres were.

If you came up from Tibooburra then you would have to be careful through the National Park as the Ranger has a bad habit of grading and leaving a foot high ridge at the start or end.

Aside from the ground clearance I have always found Jap FWDs to almost shake apart when they see a dirt road.

Yes but be mindful that the main road in from the south east through the NP (Cameron's Corner Road) is hard surfaced and rough. Traction is not an issue but speed is. You will need to drive slowly or your vehicle will rattle to pieces. May be better to cross the border at Tooma Gate and head for the Corner through Qld (or do the loop). Keep out if it is wet!

    Cheers

PS If in the area, a visit to the Family Hotel in Tibooburra is a must do. The art on the walls ls magnificent (various artists including Clifton Pugh). Food is also good.

Check before you start, conditions can change out there. Ex-Sydney, if you go via Bourke and Thargo, it's bitumen past Noccundra, (as of a couple of years ago with intention of further sealing toward 'The Corner')
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Cameron Corner is easy in anything if you are coming from the east...vis Tibooburra. The road is maintained in top condition by NSW road gangs as far as the gate and you can see the difference as soon as you get out and open it.

I wouldn't like to continue on to Merty Merty in a 2wd but it would still be doable. Many do it on motorcycles.

Guess we are too spoiled by modern 4wds.. but there are some terrible bulldust holes near the crest of some of those dunes.
