All accidents are caused by Negligence in one form or another, either by the person deemed to be at fault or the person deemed to be the victim.

I the Maritime world You would be apportioned some of the blame if your vessel was hit by a Meteor.

Legislating for the elimination of a one percent chance even if it was possible is farcical, and it could never eliminate the negligence factor.
    Cheers, Billy.

I take only one exception to the first statement. Crashes are caused by negligence, intent or omission, there are rarely any unforeseeable accidental causes.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Fair enough. That is more accurate.

Are smart phones that smart? Before the advent of the afore mentioned devise, I could text as I drove, using braille; now I have to take my eyes off the road.

I've been trying to teach the pugs to either learn to steer or make TXTs for me, but they're too busy being pugs!

    That explains the spelling errors.

When I started (legally) driving in 1965, road deaths in NSW were about 1,100 per year and that continued until 1985 when the numbers started to fall. Now they are 1/3rd that.

Have a look at pp. 16-17 of this document: [ame]http://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/downloads/crashstats2009.pdf[/ame]
