    Some people amaze me.

Saturday morning I got a call from a bloke who wanted a road report for our end of the road from Borroloola, so I gave him the details, rough but passable.
Anyway late Saturday afternoon I get a call from the same bloke asking if we keep wheel bearings for trailers? I said yes but only Holden & Ford types. He says that will do because his wheel has come off about 18k from Doomadgee. I told him it would be a couple of hours before I could get out there but he un-hitched & sent his wife in to get the bearings.
Later still he calls again to ask if he can camp in our yard because the axel is bent & the trailer is crabbing badly. I had to tell him we did not have camping facilities but I could rent him a donga for a night or 2.
So, this bloke spends all yesterday & most of today bunging about fixing the trailer, driving to Burketown to get the axel straightened, getting tyres changed & so on.
Last night they invited me for dinner & a beer, and a late night yarn.

What amazes me is this couple never got cranky, lost their temper, blamed anybody or anything.

If I had gone through everything this poor bloke did (he also broke a U bolt & other stuff) I would have had the red glaze come down & been as cranky as all hell.

They make nice people in Mildura apparently.
No taste as he was driving a Colorado but nice people all the same.

getting angry and frustrated wouldn't fix it and it sounds like they weren't in a hurry so it seems as they just did what needed to be done and moved on.

Its great that they invited you over for a chat and a bevvie , plenty out there would have expected it and complained about the lack of help.

Great to hear a story like this.

Are you sure it wasn't Chris from up the road having a lend?

Does you good to hear stories like that.
Proves not everything's wrong with the world.
Sadly, I'd have been as cranky as hell and I'm a retired engineer.

....but then I am old enough to be a legitimate 'Grumpy old man'.

He probably got it out of his system roadside by kicking the trailer, skinning knuckles and weeping inconsolably.
