    A good Telstra experience.

I have had no end of troubles in the last 2 months with my email account, finally resolved.
Anyhow I bought a telstra pre-paid Samsung phone last week, couldnt use it as my sim card was wrong, they are sending one out.
Anyhow, had to go to Perth today, seeing the sim hadnt turned up yet I went into a Telstra shop to get one. They swapped it,saved all the numbers etc then checked my account. It seemed my old BYO plan was no good for a smart phone,it would use my data allowance in a few days.So for $10 a month extra I get 500gig of data plus $300 of calls, much more than I had before. Also they gave me a free 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab A wich is data linked to the phone,so you dont need a seperate bill for the tablet.
Its a spare, already have a fairly new 10" Tab S.May just use it for GPS etc in the D4.

Sorry , Andy you got nothing for free, there's no such thing with telcos, it's all in the over priced charges. They even got you for an extra $10 a month! for something that costs them next to nicks anyway.
Telcos never seem to wnat to help you with giving people a better deal on what that are already paying, they always ofer a plan that costs more.

If I waited for the sim in the post I would have then found out a month later with a big bill my plan didnt cover much data and would have needed to change plans.
Also if I hadnt gone in today I wouldnt have got the free tablet as it was the last day of the offer.
I do believe Im in front.

We had a good Telstra experience recently, we couldn't set up our new "Gateway Max" which Telstra sent us free of charge, so we rang them, & they sent a lovely man out, who set it up for us,...for nothing.
    TOP service I reckon. Pickles.

Andy, if you thought you got a good deal, and no doubt Telstra made their quid too, then the best commercial deal is when both parties leave happy.

I use a 7" tablet in my D4. 7-8" is about the right size compromise IMO.

    Hi Chris
What apps do you use for street navigation and touring navigation???? I put hema maps and some other street app, only dabbled with them, wasnt overly impressed with the street nav it kept stopping working driving around Williams and wasnt very accurate.Ive only played with hema at home, can I transfer hema to the new tablet or do I have to buy the app again???
