    For towing I'd say AWD auto diesel and I'd get electric brakes fitted to any camper trailer I owned, to avoid the trailer pushing me down steep hills. I'd also keep the trailer WAY below the supposed maximum towing weight of the vehicle, for peace of mind.

    I agree with Mick.....fit electric brakes to your camper trailer for the reasons above but also it difficult to keep a camper trailer under 750kg......a trip over a weigh bridge sorts out weights.

    I also find that with a camper trailer it's easy just to throw extra stuff in.......

    Yes our camper is about 1100kg but then you load it up with water, food, various gear, a couple of canoes etc etc etc and suddenly it's pushing you down hills, which can be a bit scary on mud.
