Billy Tea is owned by TATA

Found a pack of Billy Tea Campfire brew (the original smokey blend) at the supermarket, naturally on the bottom most shelf under all the liptons etc.
Beaut I thought, haven't had this for ages so bought a packet.
On opening the packet I spied the TATA logo, and I didn't know TATA also had TATA global beverages .

I have to say that while Tata may own Billy Tea, Tata have done wonders with the Land Rover marques after the debacles of British Leyland, Austin Rover, Ford and BMW. Defender aside, but even that after almost 60 years of the same body shape an end had to come.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I am not sure that the Billy Tea brand has ever been Australian owned. I suspect it is a brand that was introduced in Australia by one of the London based tea companies.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I can see a Bollywood movie coming up. Lots of Indian dancers singing and hopping around a Camp fire, with the silhouette of hero and heroine passionately kissing in the light from the campfire. It shouldn't take more than an hour to film and be a box office hit.
"good gracious me" as I shake my head side to side with my painted bull's eye on my forehead. sipping my billy tea
