Wasn't it Roy Rogers and his horse Ginger? Or was Ginger his wife/girlfriends name?
We had a choir master we called Roy because he was a Rogers ut now we're digging deep and going back about 60 years! 😳 Alan.

    Horse was " Trigger"
Wife was Dale Evans and her horse was "Buttermilk"

My old man met with them back in the 50,s. They were both "Sky Pilots"

I'm not a Country and Western fan. However I do know that Roy Rodgers made a series of recordings among dozens of others called Blue Yodels, numbered 1to13. No.9 was recorded with Louis Armstrong on trumpet and his wife Lil on piano when their path accidently crossed . That record is treasured by fans of early jazz . Just a bit of trivia.
