Masters special, $40. I'm sure a fellow as clever as you Dave could fit a gas burner to it.

Have a flat plate and grill on it.

    So half and half

The grills on the Webber are in two halfs so I bought a flat plate for one side. Which are available from all Weber stores.

This is a pic of my Weber Q family. Which the same style plate on after we have just cooked eggs this morning.

I bought a family Q for home , after loving the 2000 which I have in my camper trailer.

    with the existing bottle.

we don't particularly want to cook in the van and we have an electric hotplate setup for when on a powered site so if i put an eccentric latch on the existing bottle holder it can travel on the aframe and be quickly lifted and attached to the bbq.

time will tell the tale, there is no big rush, just pondering options and taking in peoples opinions etc etc...

Beware of marine types with stainless plates. They take an enormous amount of time and gas to heat up.

If you aren't in a hurry wait till bbqs galore have a sale. I got my z&b portable with trivet so you can use it as a stove plus carry bag plus half plate and cleaning brush for just over $400 on sale. I didn't worry about the trolley just got a rollup ally table for it.

It takes a bit to get used to closed lid cooking but once you've tasted a steak cooked on one you will be sold.
